Overview

This consultation concerns the TSOs in Continental Europe proposal for the Synchronous Area Operational Agreement on Load Frequency Control and Reserves developed in accordance with article 118 of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1485 of 2 August 2017 establishing a guideline on electricity transmission system operation (SO GL).

SO GL requires that all TSOs shall develop Synchronous Area Operational Agreements by 12 months after entry into force of SO GL, 14 September 2018.

This Synchronous Area Operational Agreement aims at the standardisation of the Policy of Load Frequency Control and Reserves for Continental Europe:

The Policy is structured into three parts:

  • Methodologies Conditions and Values subject to All Regulatory Authorities Approval
  • Methodologies Conditions and Values subject to approval by All TSO's
  • Methodologies Conditions and Values agreed amongst the members of ENTSO-E Regional Group Continental Europe

Methodologies Conditions and Values subject to All Regulatory Authorities Approval are subject to public consultation, that is hereby initiated.

Why your views matter

ENTSO-E consults on the proposal for the Synchronous Area Operational Agreement to get the input from stakeholders on the proposal and to fulfil the requirements from article 11 of Regulation 2017/1485 (SO GL).
