Overview

 

The ENTSO for gas and electricity had gathered in the past 6 month significant feedback from the stakeholders on the assumptions and storylines of the 2030 and 2040 scenarios for the TYNDPs 2018.

Now the ENTSOs invite you to express your view on how to interpret the feedback: e.g. what does it mean “high RES penetration”? What is meant “in line with 2050 targets”?

Currently ENTSOs aim toward three scenarios to be used in the 2018 version of the TYNDP:

  • sustainable transition
  • distributed generation
  • global climate action

The overview of all these scenarios storylines/assumptions which were chosen and refined based on your previous feedback (ENTSO-E site, ENTSOG site), can be accessed here.

Why your views matter

We all together build the future. What we assume today will drive the developments of tomorrow. This is the reason why when planning the electricity and grid development we are looking into what the future may look like.

The electricity and gas are independent systems but they are inter-dependent of each other. Therefore today the ENTSOs, are asking you both as electricity and gas stakeholders to give us your vision of the future.

 

What happens next

Based on your feedback ENTSO-E and ENTSOG will update and develop the scenarios data for the electricity and gas TYNDPs 2018.

  • Public Webinar: Let’s develop together the future scenarios

    From 10 Oct 2016 at 10:30 to 10 Oct 2016 at 13:00

    Participate on 10 October (10:30 – 13:00 CET) at the ENTSOs public webinar. This 2.5h public webinar aims at:
    - explaining how the previous feedback from stakeholders and member states were considered
    - presenting the chosen TYNDP 2018 scenarios
    - gathering additional feedback directly in the webinar
    - explaining the next steps in the scenario development
