Overview

APG, CEPS and German TSOs intent to implement a cooperation on common procurement of aFRR balancing capacity on the borders between AT-CZ and CZ-DE.

We are seeking input and feedback from relevant stakeholders, market participants and NRAs for our Common and harmonized Rules and Processes for the Exchange and Procurement of Balancing Capacity for Automatic Frequency Restoration Reserves in accordance with Article 33(1) of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2195 of 23 November 2017 Establishing a Guideline on Electricity Balancing as Amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/280 of 22 February 2021 on the Border between Czech Republic and Germany.

  • ALPACA – aFRR Cooperation – Stakeholder Workshop

    The TSOs of Austria, Czechia and Germany will hold a joint digital stakeholder workshop on ALPACA (Allocation and Procurement of aFRR Balancing Capacity Cooperation Agreement) on 19.09.2023 from 14:00 to 16:00. Since the response to the ongoing consultation is low, we want to offer this workshop at short notice.

    ALPACA seeks to establish a common procurement of balancing capacity of automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR) at the CZ-DE and AT-CZ borders. The current German-Austrian cooperation to commonly procure aFRR remains in place.

    Topics of this workshop include an overview on the cooperation design and the current EBGL proposals as well as updates from the project. The workshop will be held in English.

    The exact agenda and dial-in dates will be communicated in time before the workshop. We kindly ask you to register your participation until 18.09.2023 by contacting the contact person of your connecting TSOs.
