Overview

This consultation concerns the regional TSO proposal for the Balancing Timeframe Capacity Calculation Methodology, in accordance with Article 37 of Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2195 of 23 November 2017 establishing a guideline on electricity balancing. This proposal covers the Capacity Calculation Methodology for the Balancing Timeframe for the Italy North Capacity Calculation Region.

Why your views matter

We are seeking input from stakeholders and market participants on this important feature of Electricity Balancing. TSOs of the Italy North Capacity Calculation Region (TERNA, RTE, APG and ELES together with Swissgrid as Technical Counterparty) are initiating this open on-line consultation for a period of not less than one month. The proposal shall be subject to consultation in accordance with Article 10 of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2195 of 23 November 2017 establishing a guideline on electricity balancing. For information purposes, an Explanatory Note describing in detail the proposed Balancing Timeframe methodology accompanies the proposal.

What happens next

The objective of the public consultation is to collect the stakeholders’ views on the capacity calculation methodology proposal. After the public consultation the Italy North TSOs will assess the comments received by the stakeholders and update the proposal.
